I’ll be teaching two classes at the Robinson Center starting in January, for 4-5th graders and for 8-12th graders. If you know kids in the right cohorts, these will be really exciting looks at infinity and its applications.
I’ve invited Katherine to co-craft the curriculum and co-teach with me as well. Seeing as my father was a major proponent of the power of co-teaching, I’m feeling very excited about the possibilities of these classes. The power of having two of us in the classroom is that students get to see what a conversation between mathematicians looks like, and are invited to join in. It’s a very powerful pedagogical model, which my dad discussed it at length in Educating for Freedom, and more briefly (but accessibly) in Teaching with Your Mouth Shut.
