A math game with its own theme song?!

May 6, 2020

A teacher named Mark Esch emailed me recently to ask about using one of our classroom games, Horseshoes, in a movie he wanted to make.

When he sent it to me, I was blown away. It’s fun, and does a great job explaining the game. But he also got someone else (from a band called Horseshoes and Hand Grenades) to write a theme song for the game.

I repeat. It’s a math game with its own theme song.

I love that, and hope you do too. And horseshoes is a genuinely great game.

You can follow Mark on Twitter at @mtesch. Mark also produced this instruction video for Clear the Board which I found silly and delightful. It’s a great option for kids who aren’t ready for Horseshoes yet.
