A matter of justice

June 2, 2020

Our work at Math for Love has always been based in the belief that the power and beauty of mathematics belongs to every person. And that work always involved the political, since educational opportunity depends, in this country, on where people live, what wealth they have, whether they are hungry, and whether they are safe.

There should be no doubt that racist ideas are bankrupt, and racist policy is unjust, that injustice toward any of us hurts all of us. We can take power back, through action at the local and national level, and especially at the ballot box, and continue the long, difficult work of building a more perfect union.

Life, liberty, and, opportunity must be available to all.
We cannot allow justice to be perverted.
In the face of actions to the contrary, we affirm that Black Lives Matter.
