Math for Love Video PD

Welcome to our video PD series supporting the Math for Love Curriculum!

This series is meant to support teachers in getting the most out of our curriculum, whether they use it for a summer program or school year supplement. If possible, we recommend structuring the videos in sets of three, in sessions lasting 1 to 1.5 hours each.

Session 1

  • Video 1 – introduction/overview and first activity (forty faces)
  • Video 2 – Activity followup and principles of the curriculum
  • Video 3 – Conceptual knowledge and fluency, outcomes of implementing the curriculum

Session 2

  • Video 4 – Structuring a day (can start at 4:20 if you’re using revised curriculum), close reading of a lesson plan
  • Video 5 – Openers
  • Video 6 – Games

Session 3

  • Video 7 – Explorations (the main kind of activity you’ll see)
  • Video 8 – Story problems, worksheets, and math breaks and movement games
  • Video 9 – Planning and logistics (can start at 7:00 if you’re using revised curriculum): Choice Time, manipulatives, final thoughts
